FAQs

Are you accepting new clients?

Please check the New Clients page.  If I am accepting new clients it is listed there.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Currently accepted insurances include; Aetna, Cigna, Optum, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, First Choice Health Network, MHN, MODA, Pacific Source Commercial/Medicaid, Trillium Medicaid, Medicare and Providence.  As insurance acceptance can change, it is best to contact the office if you have questions about your specific insurance.

I also accept cash pay clients.  Initial Evaluation $500; Medication Management Follow up $300.  Cash pay clients who prepay for their session anytime before the session start are offered a prepay discount of Initial Evaluation $350, Medication Management Follow up $150.

Clients who cash pay can be provided with an invoice (superbill) to provide to their insurance for possible reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to determine what, if any, reimbursement you will receive.

What disorders do you treat? What medications do you prescribe?

I treat most psychiatric disorders including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and behavioral disturbances.

Please note:  Controlled substances are prescribed on a limited basis.  Potential adult clients with an existing ADHD diagnosis will need to provide a copy of a neuropsychological assessment validating this diagnosis.  Parents of minor child clients will need to provide either a copy of a neuropsychological assessment, or an assessment completed by a school psychologist validating this diagnosis prior to any stimulant start or continuation.  I do not prescribe benzodiazepines or hypnotic medications.  Examples of these would be: Xanax, Clonazepam, Ambien.

If you have any doubt if your disorder would be treated, a certain medication prescribed, or need a list of neuropsychologists, please contact the office via secure encrypted email at admin@cedarpsych.hush.com.

What is Cedar Psychiatric doing about COVID 19 concerns?

I am committed to maintaining the physical, as well as the mental health, of my clients.  For in person appointments I employ longer appt times, and scheduled breaks between clients, so as to thoroughly clean offices between client appointments.  I also offer masks and social distancing and encourage clients who are feeling unwell, or have been in contact with someone who is unwell to reschedule their appointment or consider changing to a telehealth appointment.

"I’m from an agency and I’d like to contact Cedar Psychiatric Associates, how do I do that?"

Please send communications to either the secure encrypted email address or fax number located on our home page.  Due to staffing issues, phone calls are not returned. All communication must be by email or fax.

Also, at this time I do not accept direct referrals from agencies.  And do not maintain a wait list. Please encourage your clients to keep checking the New Clients tab on this website as this is the first place I will announce any availability.

"I'm a former client and need my records sent to my new provider. How do I do that?"

There are several ways to request your records.

We will need a completed release of information form to send your records.  If your new provider already had you fill one out please have them forward it via email or fax.  If there is no release yet completed, an electronic release of information form will be sent to you via secure email to complete. Please allow 10 - 14 business days for transfer of records.
